GATE-2018 Notifications


Every year GATE exam is conducted by the IISc Bangalore, and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Madras and IIT Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board GATE, Department of Higher Education, MHRD, Government of India. This time GATE 2017 exam will be conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee.

Examination will be held on February 4 to 5 and February 11 to 12, 2017 (Saturdays and Sundays only).

GATE is conducted for taking admission into post-graduate programmes (for e.g. ME, MTech, PhD) in Indian institutes of higher education and financial assistance is provided by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and other government agencies.

GATE score may also be used by public and private sectors.

Results will be declared on March 27, 2017 (Monday).

GATE office is also providing an online copy of solved exam which the students attempted during the exam. Candidate can check their performance from their respective login credentials and do the rough calculation of marks. It will also help the candidate to avoid silly mistakes for better score in the next attempt.

What’s NEW in GATE 2017


  • GATE for International Candidates: GATE 2017 examination shall be held for international candidates in Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Ethiopia and United Arab Emirates (U.A.E).
  • New Paper : The XE paper now has a new section on Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences (section H). With this the number of sections in the XE paper has increased to eight (A-H).
